Product Introduction:
This product is a colored alkyd primer formulated with alkyd resin, pigments, extender pigments, driers, and organic solvents. It features excellent mechanical properties, easy operation, and convenient usage. It is primarily used for coating steel surfaces as a general-purpose primer.
Product Features:
1. The surface finish of this product depends on the application method; mixed application methods should be avoided whenever possible;
2. To achieve the specified film thickness, multiple coats are required, and the recoating interval should be observed;
3. This product must be thinned with alkyd thinner.
Matching Products:
Various colors of alkyd primers can be matched with our company's range of alkyd ready-mixed paints and alkyd enamels. For custom matching, please consult our technical center.
Construction Reference:
Surface Treatment—Before painting, the substrate surface should be clean, dry, smooth, and firm, free from contaminants such as grease and rust. If there are issues like grease, old paint films, or weld spatter on the steel surface, mechanical equipment should be used for treatment (if conditions permit, sandblasting or shot blasting can be employed for rust removal), aiming to achieve Sa2.5 or higher (Sa3.0). For newly applied primer, the topcoat should be applied within the specified recoating interval.
Handling Dust – It can be blown off with a compressed air gun or swept clean with a clean brush.
Old paint film treatment—Remove with a scraper, then fill and sand smooth, or use other methods as appropriate.
Grease treatment—First clean with a thinner or other methods, then wipe with a clean cloth. If conditions permit, wash with dilute acid first, rinse with clean water, and then air-dry or oven-dry.
Construction Environment: The suitable application temperature for this product is between 5°C and 40°C. Relative humidity must be below 75%. Avoid application during rain, snow, or fog, and prevent contact with water. Ensure adequate ventilation during application and drying in confined spaces. The surface must be dry and clean, with substrate temperature at least 3°C above the dew point.
Application Method: Use air spraying or brushing. If special application methods (such as airless spray or roller coating) are required, please specify in advance. The company will adjust the formula accordingly for special methods.
Dilution Ratio: Generally 5-10% of the paint volume used.
Spraying pressure — 0.3~0.6MPa
Tool cleaning — Alkyd thinner
Painting Data:
Color | Fully Dry | Mass Solids Content | Typical Dry Film Thickness | Theoretical spreading rate | Actual spreading rate | Application method |
Various colors | 7d | ≥70% | Dry film 50-60μm | 5㎡/㎏ | Appropriate consideration for coating loss | Air spraying, brush painting |
Incident Response:
To prevent skin and eye contact with paint, wear protective clothing, gloves, goggles, and masks before starting work. If paint splashes onto the skin, immediately wash with warm water, soapy water, or other appropriate cleansers. If paint enters the eyes, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water and seek medical attention promptly.
Ensure good ventilation at the construction site. Wear an air mask during spray painting to avoid inhaling solvent vapors and paint mist. Never pour the coating into sewers or drainage pipes.
This product is flammable. Keep it away from open flames during storage and application. Smoking is strictly prohibited at the construction site. Store the product out of reach of children.
Storage:
Can be stored for at least 12 months at 25°C, after which it should be inspected before use. Store in a dry, ventilated, shaded area, away from fire and heat sources.
