Product Overview:
Type II Black Petroleum Pipe Protective Coating is formulated by grinding a mixture of modified alkyd resin, rust-preventive additives, pigments, and solvents. This product features fast drying at room temperature (surface drying within 30 minutes), excellent salt spray resistance, and strong adhesion. It is primarily used for medium-to-long-term rust prevention on petroleum pipes and tubing.
Product Features:
1. The surface finish of this product depends on the application method. Mixed application methods should be avoided as much as possible.
2. Multiple coats are required to achieve the specified film thickness, and attention should be paid to the intervals between coats.
3. This product must be diluted with the specified thinner. The use of other thinners may affect the surface condition, drying time, and other properties of the coating.

Color | Fully Dry | Salt Spray Resistance | Typical Dry Film Thickness | Theoretical coverage rate | Coating Method |
Black | 7d | 200 hours | Dry film 40-50μm | 8㎡/㎏ | Spray or brush application |
Construction reference:
Surface Preparation—Before painting, the substrate surface must be clean, dry, smooth, and firm, free from grease, rust, or other contaminants. If grease, old paint, or weld burrs are present on the steel surface, mechanical treatment (preferably sandblasting or shot blasting for steel surfaces, if conditions permit) should be applied to achieve Sa2.5 or higher (Sa3.0).
Dust Removal—Use an air gun to blow away dust or a clean brush to sweep it off.
Old Paint Film Treatment—Remove with a scraper, then fill and sand smooth, or use other methods as appropriate.
Grease treatment – First, remove or treat with a thinner or other methods, then wipe clean with a clean cloth. If possible, start by cleaning with a dilute acid, rinse with clean water, and then air-dry or bake dry.
Construction Environment — The optimal application temperature for this product is between 5°C and 40°C. Relative humidity must be below 75%. Avoid application during rain, snow, or fog, and prevent contact with water. Ensure adequate ventilation in confined spaces during application and drying. The surface must be dry and clean, with the substrate temperature at least 3°C above the dew point.
Application Method — Air spraying. If special application methods (such as airless spraying or roller coating) are used, please notify us in advance so the company can adjust the formulation accordingly.
Dilution Ratio — Generally 2-4% of the paint volume used.
Spraying Pressure — 0.3 to 0.6 MPa
Tools Cleaning—— Special Diluent
Drying and recoating intervals:

Drying and recoating intervals | Surface drying time | Hard drying time | Full curing time | Recoating interval |
30min | 8h | 7d | 8h |
Recommended matching products:
Various colors of alkyd ready-mixed paint can be paired with our company's phenolic anti-rust paint, iron red alkyd primer, or iron red primer. For alternative pairings, please consult our technical center.
Health and Safety:
Please pay attention to the warning labels on the packaging containers. Use under well-ventilated conditions. Avoid swallowing or inhaling paint mist. To prevent skin and eye contact with the paint, wear protective clothing, gloves, goggles, and masks before application. If paint splashes onto the skin, wash immediately with warm water, soapy water, or other appropriate cleaning agents. If paint gets into the eyes, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water and seek medical attention promptly.。
Storage:
Storage must comply with national regulations. The storage environment should be dry, cool, well-ventilated, and away from heat sources and open flames. Packaging containers must remain tightly sealed. It can be stored for a maximum of 6 months at 25°C, after which it should be inspected before use. If separation occurs, it can still be used after thorough mixing.
Note:
The above materials and data are all based on laboratory tests and experimental experience. Variations may occur in certain circumstances (such as construction techniques, testing methods, or paint improvements).
