Product Introduction:

This product features a thick single-coat film formation, excellent adhesion, and superior corrosion resistance. The primer is also characterized by easy sanding, effortless application, high solid content, and minimal environmental pollution. It is suitable for environments with light to medium anti-corrosion requirements, such as automobile compartments, steel structures, bridge steel frames, and chemical steel structures.

Product: IPN Interpenetrating Polymer Network intermediate paint can be recoated on IPN Interpenetrating Polymer Network compatible primer, general epoxy primer, or epoxy zinc-rich primer. For other compatible primers if needed, please consult the Technical Center of Shaanxi Baotashan Paint Co., Ltd.

Scheme: Two coats of primer (90μm), two coats of intermediate paint (90μm), and two coats of topcoat (60μm), totaling approximately 240μm. For environments requiring higher corrosion resistance, the following can be used: two coats of primer (120μm), two coats of intermediate paint (120μm), and two coats of topcoat (60μm), totaling approximately 300μm.

Construction reference:

Surface Preparation—Before spraying the primer, weld seams and edges on the steel surface should be treated, followed by dust removal. If conditions permit, dilute acid can be used for degreasing, followed by thorough cleaning with water. Surface sandblasting and rust removal for steel should comply with the GB8923-88 standard, generally achieving Sa2.5 grade.

Dust Removal—If there is loose dust on the treated substrate surface, it can be removed using a compressed air gun or a clean brush.

Application Environment—The optimal application temperature for this product is between 5°C and 40°C. Relative humidity must be below 75%. Avoid application during rain, snow, or fog, and prevent contact with water. Adequate ventilation must be provided during application and drying in confined spaces. The application surface must be dry and clean, and the substrate temperature must be at least 3°C above the dew point.

Construction Method - Mix the paint and hardener strictly according to the ratio printed on the packaging label, then add different proportions of thinner depending on the application method. Stir for 10-20 minutes, let stand for another 10-20 minutes before application.

Tool cleaning – Special thinner for Baotashan Paint IPN interpenetrating polymer network coatings

Operation pause – Clean the spray gun with the special thinner for Baotashan Paint IPN interpenetrating polymer network coatings to prevent paint from curing and clogging the nozzle. All mixed paint with hardener added should be used within 5 hours (this is the pot life at 25°C; it may be extended in winter and shortened in summer). It's best to estimate the required amount before mixing each batch to avoid over-preparation. If left unused, the paint may naturally start reacting, leading to curing and rendering it unusable, resulting in unnecessary losses.

Spray gun pressure: 12-15MPa

Tool cleaning: IPN coating-specific thinner

Precautions:

1. All tools used after construction must be kept dry and clean.

2. Close the lid promptly after opening the can to prevent the paint surface inside from drying out. After mixing the paint, ensure the hardener container is tightly sealed to avoid curing failure.

3. The hardeners and thinners for primer and topcoat are not interchangeable. Pay attention when using them.

4. The relative humidity during construction shall not exceed 80%.

5. When the room temperature is below 0°C, the drying and curing process will be slower. Construction should be avoided during rainy days or when wind speed exceeds level 4.

Fire prevention and ventilation are required during construction, with foam dry powder and similar materials used as extinguishing agents.

Incident response:

To avoid skin and eye contact with paint, wear protective clothing, gloves, goggles, and a mask before construction. If paint splashes onto the skin, immediately wash it off with warm water, soapy water, or other suitable cleaning agents. If paint enters the eyes, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water and seek medical attention promptly.

The construction site should be well-ventilated. When spraying, wear an air mask to prevent inhaling solvent vapors and paint mist. Do not pour the coating into sewers or drainage pipes.

This product is flammable. Keep it away from open flames during storage and application, and smoking is strictly prohibited at the construction site. The product should be stored out of reach of children.

Storage:

Store in a cool, dry place. The effective storage period is one year (can be reused after passing inspection after one year).
