Product Introduction:

This product exhibits excellent resistance to moisture and solvent media. The paint film contains micaceous iron oxide, providing superior barrier properties, and demonstrates good compatibility with baotashanPaint's IPN (Interpenetrating Polymer Network) topcoats and primers. It is suitable for environments with light to moderate anti-corrosion requirements, such as automobile compartments, steel structures, bridge frameworks, and chemical steel structures. In harsh conditions demanding high flexibility, hardness, impact resistance, and resistance to acids, alkalis, and salts, this product serves as an effective intermediary, enhancing the overall performance of both the primer and topcoat.

Product: IPN Interpenetrating Polymer Network Intermediate Paint can be recoated on IPN Interpenetrating Polymer Network compatible primers, general epoxy primers, or epoxy zinc-rich primers. Solution: two coats of primer (90μm), two coats of intermediate paint (90μm), and two coats of topcoat (60μm), totaling approximately 240μm. For environments requiring higher anti-corrosion performance, the following can be used: two coats of primer (120μm), two coats of intermediate paint (120μm), and two coats of topcoat (60μm), totaling approximately 300μm.

Construction Reference:

Surface Treatment—The IPN composite interpenetrating polymer network intermediate coat should be applied over the recommended rust-proof or anti-corrosion primer. The primer surface must be dry and free from contamination. Additionally, the IPN composite interpenetrating polymer network intermediate coat must be applied within the specified recoating interval. Peeling or damaged areas should be treated, and primer must be reapplied to these defective areas before applying the IPN composite interpenetrating polymer network intermediate coat.

Dust Removal—If there is loose dust on the primer surface, it can be cleaned using an air gun or by brushing with a clean brush.

Construction Environment—The optimal construction temperature for this product is between 5°C and 40°C. Relative humidity must be below 75%. Avoid construction during rain, snow, or fog, and prevent any contact with water. Adequate ventilation should be provided during construction and drying in confined spaces. The construction surface must be dry and clean, and the substrate temperature must be at least 3°C above the dew point.

Construction Method: Mix the paint and hardener strictly according to the ratio printed on the label of the packaging container. Then, add the appropriate proportion of thinner based on the specific application method, stir for 10-20 minutes, and let it sit for another 10-20 minutes before application.

Work suspended—Clean the spray gun with baotashanPaint IPN interpenetrating polymer network coating special thinner to prevent paint from curing and clogging the nozzle. All mixed paint with added curing agent should be used within 5 hours (this is the pot life at 25°C; it may extend in winter and shorten accordingly in summer). It is best to estimate the required amount of paint before each batch to avoid over-preparation. If left unused, the paint will naturally start reacting, leading to curing and making it unsuitable for application, resulting in unnecessary losses.

Tools · Cleaning – IPN Coating Special Thinner

Precautions:

1.All tools must be kept dry and clean after construction.

2. After opening the drum lid, promptly cover it to prevent the paint surface inside from drying out. After mixing the paint, the packaging drum of the curing agent must be tightly sealed to avoid adhesive failure.

3. The curing agent and thinner for primer and topcoat cannot be used interchangeably. Pay attention when using them.

4. The relative humidity during construction must not exceed 80%.

5. When room temperature is below 0°C, drying and curing speed will be slower. Construction is not advisable during rainy days or when wind force exceeds level 4.

During construction, fire prevention and ventilation should be ensured, with fire extinguishing agents such as foam dry powder used.

Accident Response:

To prevent skin and eye contact with paint, wear appropriate work clothing, gloves, protective goggles, and a mask before commencing work. If paint splashes onto the skin, immediately wash with warm water, soapy water, or other suitable cleaning agents. In case of eye exposure, rinse thoroughly with plenty of clean water and seek medical attention promptly.

The construction site should be well-ventilated, and air masks must be worn during spray painting to prevent inhaling solvent vapors and paint mist. Do not pour the paint into sewers or drainage pipes.

This product is flammable; keep it away from open flames during storage and application, and smoking is strictly prohibited at the construction site. The product should be stored out of reach of children.

Storage:

Store in a cool, dry place with a shelf life of one year (can be reused after passing inspection after one year)
