Various Engineering PU1001 Exterior Paint (Two-component)

Product Introduction:

This product is a two-component modified polyurethane topcoat with excellent weather resistance and workability. It can be paired with PU1001 universal primer according to different customer requirements, and applied to new construction or repair of steel structures such as prefabricated buildings, factory equipment pipelines, corridor handrails, industrial and mining machinery, and power equipment for corrosion protection.

Product Features:

1. The surface finish of this product depends on the application method; mixed application methods should be avoided whenever possible.

2.This product must be used with the PU1001 dedicated thinner. Using other thinners, especially those containing alcohol-based solvents, will severely affect the curing process of the paint film;

3. Condensation during or immediately after application may result in a dull film or inferior coating quality.

4. If brushing or rolling is used, the primer selection should match the final coat. Dark-colored primers or micaceous iron oxide primers usually require two coats of PU1001 topcoat.

Construction Conditions: %% Surface Treatment—Before painting, the substrate surface should be clean, dry, smooth, and firm, free from contaminants such as grease, rust, etc. If there are issues like grease, old paint layers, or weld spatter on the steel surface, mechanical methods should be used for treatment (preferably sandblasting or shot blasting for rust removal if conditions permit). The surface must achieve a minimum standard of Sa2.5 or higher (Sa3.0).

Surface Treatment — Before painting, the substrate surface should be clean, dry, smooth, and firm, free from contaminants such as grease, rust, and other debris. If there are issues like grease, old paint films, or weld spatter on the steel surface, mechanical treatment should be applied (if possible, sandblasting or shot blasting is preferred for rust removal). The surface must meet Sa2.5 or higher standards (Sa3.0).

Dust removal – Use a compressed air gun to blow it clean or sweep it with a clean brush.

Old paint film treatment – Scrape it off with a putty knife, then fill and sand it smooth, or use other methods as appropriate.

Handling of grease – First remove with a thinner or treat by other means, then wipe clean with a clean cloth. If conditions permit, wash with dilute acid first, rinse with clean water, and then air dry or oven dry.

Construction Environment – The optimal application temperature for this product is between 5°C and 40°C. Relative humidity must be below 80%. Avoid application during rain, snow, or fog, and prevent contact with water. Adequate ventilation must be provided during application and drying in confined spaces. The construction surface must be dry and clean, and the substrate temperature must be at least 3°C above the dew point.

Mix Ratio — Follow the ratio indicated on the packaging.

Application Method — Air spraying or brushing. If a special application method (such as airless spraying or roller coating) is used, it should be specified in advance. The company will adjust the formula accordingly for special methods.

Dilution Ratio — Generally 10-30% of the paint volume used.

Gelation Time — 5°C (16h), 15°C (6h), 25°C (3h), 40°C (1h). %% Curing Time — Mix components A and B in the specified ratio for about 10 minutes before application, then allow 10–20 minutes of curing before use. %% Spray Gun Pressure — 4–6 kg

Preventive measures:

To avoid skin and eye contact with paint, wear protective clothing, gloves, goggles, and masks before construction. If paint splashes onto the skin, immediately wash it off with warm water, soapy water, or other appropriate cleaning agents. If paint enters the eyes, rinse thoroughly with plenty of clean water and seek medical attention promptly.

The construction site should be well-ventilated. When spraying, wear an air mask to prevent inhaling solvent vapors and paint mist. Never pour paint into drains or sewage pipes.

This product is flammable. Keep it away from open flames during storage and application. Smoking is strictly prohibited at the construction site. Store the product out of reach of children.

Incident Response:

If skin contact occurs: Rinse thoroughly with water.

If in eyes: Rinse carefully with water for several minutes. If skin irritation or rash occurs: Seek medical advice./Medical treatment。

Storage:

Ata temperature of 25°C, it can be stored for at least 12 months, after which it should be checked before further use. Store in a dry, well-ventilated, shaded area, away from fire and heat sources.
