Aliphatic Acrylic Polyurethane Topcoat (Two-component)

Product Introduction:

A two-component, aliphatic acrylic polyurethane topcoat with excellent corrosion resistance and long-term repairability. Widely used for outdoor steel structure protection in various environments, such as large offshore oil production equipment, high-voltage switches and transformers, bridges, and long-term protection for the exterior walls of storage tanks.

Product Features:

1. The gloss and surface finish depend on the application method. Avoid mixing multiple coating methods whenever possible. Using the conventional air spray method yields the best gloss and appearance.

2. When repainting after weathering or aging, it is essential to thoroughly treat the existing coating by removing surface contaminants such as grease, salt crystals, road dust, etc., before reapplying. Although interlayer adhesion may decrease when applied over aged coatings, it still meets the requirements for specified uses.

3. This product must be diluted with the recommended thinner. Using other thinners, especially those containing alcohol, will severely affect the curing mechanism of the coating.

4. The surface temperature must always remain at least 3 degrees Celsius above the dew point.

5. When used in enclosed spaces, ensure adequate ventilation.

6. Moisture condensation during or immediately after the coating process can cause the surface to lose its luster and degrade the film quality.

7. Contact with water before complete curing may cause discoloration, especially for dark colors and under low-temperature conditions.

Matching Products:

The following primer/intermediate paint systems are recommended for use: epoxy zinc-rich primer, epoxy iron oxide primer, epoxy mica iron oxide intermediate paint, and acrylic polyurethane paint suitable for self-recoating.

Construction Conditions:

Surface Treatment: The surface to be painted must be dry, clean, and free from contamination. The acrylic polyurethane topcoat must be applied over the recommended rust-preventive primer. The primer surface should be dry and uncontaminated. Application must be carried out within the specified recoating interval. Areas with peeling or damage should be treated, and anti-corrosion primer should be applied to these spots before applying the topcoat.

Construction: This product comes in two separate containers. During use, it must be mixed in the specified ratio, paired and combined all at once, and used up within the designated mixing period. Thoroughly stir the base material (A) with a power tool, then blend all of the curing agent (B) with the base material (A) and stir thoroughly again with a power tool. Finally, add an appropriate amount of acrylic thinner and mix well.

Mixing Ratio: Mass ratio A:B=10:1.5 (subject to packaging specifics)

Work suspension: Do not leave paint in the paint tube or spraying equipment. Thoroughly rinse the equipment with a dedicated thinner. If the work suspension is prolonged, it is recommended to use freshly mixed paint when resuming work.

Cleaning: All equipment should be cleaned with acrylic thinner after use. In daily work, clean all equipment regularly, with the frequency determined by factors such as the amount of spraying, temperature, spraying time, including any interruptions.

All remaining paint and empty containers should be disposed of in accordance with laws and regulations.

Preventive Measures:

To avoid skin and eye contact with the paint, protective clothing, gloves, goggles, and masks should be worn before application. If paint splashes onto the skin, immediately wash with warm water, soapy water, or other appropriate cleaning agents. If it gets into the eyes, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water and seek medical attention promptly.

The construction site should be well-ventilated, and air masks must be worn during spraying to prevent inhalation of solvent vapors and paint mist. Do not pour the paint into sewers or drainage pipes.

This product is flammable. Keep away from open flames during storage and application, and smoking is strictly prohibited at the construction site. The product should be stored out of reach of children.

Accident Response:

If skin contact occurs: Rinse thoroughly with water.

If it gets into the eyes: Rinse carefully with water for several minutes. If skin irritation or rash occurs: Seek medical advice./Medical attention。

Storage:

Ata temperature of 25°C, it can be stored for at least 12 months, after which it should be checked before use. Store in a dry, well-ventilated, shaded place, away from fire and heat sources.
