Product Introduction:

baotashan Paint Chlorosulfonated Polyethylene Anti-corrosion Coating is a single-component, room-temperature self-drying anti-corrosion paint formulated by mixing special resins with various modified resins, additives, pigments, fillers, and solvents, then ground into a fine mixture.

Primarily used for the surfaces of various lightweight metals and cement structures both indoors and outdoors, as well as on railway bridges, high-voltage transmission towers, containers, offshore drilling and oil extraction equipment, vehicle chassis, heavy machinery, ships, chemical equipment and pipelines, and gas storage tanks in gas projects under different environmental conditions, providing rust-proof and anti-corrosion protection.

This product features a paint film with excellent mechanical and physical properties, elasticity, cold resistance, weather resistance, acid and alkali resistance, and outstanding chemical resistance. It also possesses characteristics such as flame retardancy and self-extinguishing properties.

Product Features:

1. The service life and anti-corrosion effectiveness of the paint film depend on factors such as surface preparation during coating application, film thickness, and the corrosive environment. Users must meet the requirements for surface preparation and construction conditions. Generally, the paint film thickness should be maintained above 100 microns, and under harsh conditions, it should exceed 150 microns.

2. Chlorosulfonated anti-corrosion coatings can rapidly release solvents during application. Repeated multiple applications may result in an excessively thick total film, leading to blistering and pinholes due to solvent entrapment. Since each layer may trap solvents, it is generally recommended that when applying chlorosulfonated anti-corrosion coatings, a single coat should not be too thick, and the recoating interval should not be too short.

3. This product must be applied using a dedicated thinner. The use of other thinners will severely affect the drying and surface finish of the paint film.

Application Guidelines:

Surface Treatment—Metal Surfaces: The surface to be painted must undergo thorough cleaning before painting to ensure it is free from rust, oil, moisture, dust, etc. For general anti-corrosion purposes on steel surfaces or steel structure maintenance, manual rust removal can be performed to achieve the Swedish SISO55900 rust removal standard St2 or St3 grade. For critical anti-corrosion projects or newly constructed steel structures, sandblasting or shot blasting should be carried out to meet the Swedish rust removal standard Sa2 grade, creating a certain level of roughness on the steel surface to enhance paint adhesion.

Concrete Surface: Concrete and mortar are typically porous, containing moisture and alkaline substances. Direct application of paint can often lead to discoloration, blistering, and peeling of the paint film, as it reacts with alkaline substances through saponification, causing damage. Therefore, new concrete and cement mortar surfaces must undergo a certain period of curing to allow moisture to evaporate and alkaline salts to precipitate, which must then be thoroughly removed before construction. Generally, the moisture content should be below 6%. If there are pits on the concrete surface, they can be filled and leveled with putty.

Repair: Use appropriate cleaning agents to thoroughly remove grease and other contaminants. Rinse with fresh water to eliminate salts and other impurities. Sandblasting can be employed to remove rust and other loose materials. Power tools may be used for small-scale cleaning.

Dust Removal: Use a compressed air gun to blow away dust or sweep clean with a soft brush.

Construction Environment: In freezing or sub-freezing conditions, ensure surfaces are free from ice to prevent affecting paint adhesion. Conduct operations under normal, favorable conditions; in confined spaces, ensure proper ventilation. During hot summer periods, avoid painting under intense sunlight. Construction is not advisable during rain, snow, fog, or high winds and sandstorms.

Accident Response:

To avoid skin and eye contact with paint, wear appropriate work clothing, gloves, protective goggles, and a mask before starting construction. If paint splashes onto the skin, immediately wash it off with warm water, soapy water, or other suitable cleaning agents. If paint enters the eyes, rinse them thoroughly with plenty of clean water and seek medical attention promptly.

Ensure the construction site is well-ventilated, and wear an air mask during spraying to prevent inhalation of solvent vapors and paint mist. Never pour coatings into sewers or drainage pipes.

This product is flammable. Keep away from open flames during storage and application, and smoking is strictly prohibited at the work site. Store the product out of reach of children.

Storage:

Can be stored for at least 12 months at 25°C, after which it should be inspected before use. Store in a dry, ventilated, shaded area, away from fire and heat sources.
