Product Overview:
Epoxy Zinc-rich Primer for containers is a two-component coating formulated by mixing epoxy resin, anti-corrosive pigments, zinc powder, additives, organic solvents, and curing agents. This product features excellent adhesion, fast curing, superior anti-corrosion performance, and good weldability. It is suitable for coating the surfaces of containers.
Construction Reference:
Surface Preparation—— Before painting, the substrate surface should be clean, dry, smooth, and firm, free from grease, rust, and other contaminants. If there are issues such as grease, old paint film, or weld burrs on the steel surface, mechanical treatment should be applied (if possible, sandblasting or shot blasting is recommended for steel surface rust removal), achieving a standard of Sa2.5 or higher (Sa3.0).
Dust Removal—— Use an air gun to blow off or a clean brush to sweep away loose dust.
Old Paint Film Treatment—— Remove with a scraper, then fill and sand smooth, or adopt other methods as appropriate.
Treatment of grease – First remove or treat with a thinner or other method, then wipe clean with a clean cloth. If possible, clean with a dilute acid first, rinse with water, and then air-dry or oven-dry.
Construction Environment – The substrate temperature should be between 5°C and 40°C. When painting in non-open spaces, good ventilation is essential to ensure proper drying of the paint film. Before solvents have fully evaporated from the paint film, avoid exposure to hot air to prevent surface skinning and solvent retention. Do not subject the coating to external forces before it has fully cured.
Mixing Ratio – Follow the proportion indicated on the packaging.
Application Method – Air spraying, brush application, or high-pressure airless spraying.
Dilution ratio—Generally 30-60% of the paint volume used.
Gelation time—23℃, 8 hours (shortens as temperature rises).
Curing time—Mix components A and B thoroughly according to the ratio, then cure for 30 minutes before use.
Spray gun pressure—4-6 kg
Tools Cleaning—— Matching thinner

Recommended complementary products:
Container-use epoxy zinc-rich primer 30Micron(Dry film thickness)
Optional topcoats: such as epoxy paint, polyurethane paint, etc.
Other supporting measures can be formulated based on specific circumstances.
Health and Safety:
To avoid skin and eye contact with paint, wear protective clothing, gloves, goggles, and a mask before starting work. If paint splashes onto the skin, immediately wash with warm water, soap, or other suitable cleaning agents. If it gets into the eyes, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water and seek medical attention promptly.
The construction site should be well-ventilated, and an air mask must be worn during spraying to prevent inhaling solvent vapors and paint mist. Do not pour the coating into sewers or drainage pipes.
This product is flammable. Keep it away from open flames during storage and application, and smoking is strictly prohibited at the construction site. Store the product out of reach of children.
Storage:
InIt can be stored for at least 12 months at 25°C, after which it should be inspected before use. Store in a dry, ventilated, shaded area, away from fire and heat sources.
Remarks:
The above information and data are based on laboratory tests and practical experience. Variations may occur due to specific circumstances (such as construction techniques, testing methods, or coating improvements).
