Product Overview:
Epoxy coal tar pitch primer is a two-component coating formulated with epoxy resin modified coal tar pitch, anti-rust pigments, additives, and organic solvents. This product features excellent adhesion and flexibility, withstanding corrosion from various acids, alkalis, and salt media, strong water resistance, and good stability in humid environments; it also exhibits superior resistance to microbial erosion. Suitable for corrosion protection of buried pipelines and equipment components in oil and gas fields, mining, and chemical industries, it can also be used for protecting metal equipment and concrete structures in harsh environments such as oceans, salt lakes, and swamps.

Construction Reference:
Surface Treatment——All surfaces to be coated should be clean, dry, and free from contaminants, dust, grease, and other mechanical impurities. Remove large weld beads, sharp edges, burrs, etc., from the surface, and round off edges smoothly. Completely eliminate rust, residual scale, old paint, and residues from the surface through sandblasting or acid cleaning. Surface treatment should achieve Sa2.5 grade; for small areas where manual grinding is used, the standard should reach St2 grade, and power tool treatment should achieve St3 grade.
Dust Removal——Use a compressed air gun to blow off dust or clean with a dry brush.
Old Paint Film Treatment——Remove with a scraper and then fill and sand smooth, or employ other methods as appropriate.
Grease Treatment——First clean with a thinner or other methods, then wipe with a clean cloth. If conditions permit, wash with dilute acid, rinse with clean water, and then air-dry or oven-dry.
Construction Environment – The substrate temperature should be between 10°C and 40°C and must be at least 3°C above the dew point of the air, with relative humidity below 75%. Measurements should be taken near the substrate close to the work area. When painting in enclosed spaces, adequate ventilation is essential to ensure proper drying of the paint film. Avoid exposing the paint film to hot air before solvents have fully evaporated to prevent surface skinning and solvent retention. External forces should not be applied until the coating has fully cured.
Mixing ratio—Refer to the proportion indicated on the packaging.
Construction Method – Spraying: This product can be applied via both airless and air spray methods.
Brush Application: Recommended for small-area painting, but the specified dry film thickness must be achieved.
Roller coating - When using roller coating, ensure sufficient paint quantity is applied to achieve the specified dry film thickness.
Dilution ratio—Generally 10-30% of the paint volume used.
Gelation time—6 hours at 23℃ (shortens as temperature increases)
Curing Time - Mix components A and B thoroughly in the specified ratio and allow to cure for 30 minutes before use.
Spray Gun Pressure - 4-6 kg
Tools Cleaning - Compatible Thinner
Note: For brush application, it is recommended to use on small areas, but the specified dry film thickness must be achieved.
Roller Application When using a roller, ensure sufficient paint quantity is applied to meet the specified dry film thickness.

Recommended complementary products:
EpoxyCoal tar primer undercoat 50Micron(Dry film thickness)
Epoxy Coal Tar Enamel Topcoat100 microns (dry film thickness)
This product is a specialized matching system and must be used with epoxy coal tar enamel topcoat. Otherwise, it will severely affect the overall corrosion resistance of the coating.
Health and Safety:
To prevent skin and eye contact with paint, wear protective clothing, gloves, safety goggles, and masks before construction. If paint splashes onto the skin, immediately wash it off with warm water, soapy water, or other appropriate cleansers. If it gets into the eyes, rinse thoroughly with plenty of clean water and seek medical attention promptly.
The construction site should be well-ventilated, and an air mask must be worn during spraying to prevent inhaling solvent vapors and paint mist. Never pour the paint into sewers or drainage pipes.
This product is flammable. Keep away from open flames during storage and application, and smoking is strictly prohibited at the construction site. The product should be stored out of reach of children.
Storage:
Undera temperature of 25°C, it can be stored for at least 12 months, after which it should be inspected before use. Store in a dry, ventilated, shaded place, away from fire and heat sources.
Notes:
The above information and data are based on laboratory tests and experimental experience. Variations may occur due to individual circumstances (such as construction techniques, testing methods, or coating improvements).
