Product Introduction:
It is a water-based two-component acrylic polyurethane topcoat composed of water-based hydroxyl acrylic resin dispersion, pigments, additives, deionized water, and water-based aliphatic isocyanate curing agent. The cured film exhibitsexcellentlight and color retention when exposed to outdoor sunlight.
Purpose:
Widely used for surface coating of mechanical equipment, electronic appliances, engineering vehicles, chemical equipment, steel structure bridges, etc.
Technical Specifications:
1. Mixing Ratio - Follow the ratio indicated on the packaging and thoroughly mix the base material using a power mixer;
2. Thinner - Purified Water;
3. Dilution ratio—generally 10% to 20% of the base paint used;
4. Gel time—Use within 3 hours after mixing at a temperature of (23±2)°C. Typically, for every 10°C increase in temperature, the pot life is halved; for every 10°C decrease, the gel time doubles.
5. Curing Time – After mixing components A and B in proportion with dynamic stirring for about 5 minutes before construction, let it stand for 5-10 minutes, then add water for dilution;
6. Spray Gun Pressure – 0.4~0.6MPa (for air spraying);
7. Tool Cleaning – Use purified water;
8. Coating Interval -- Minimum recoating interval: 15h, Maximum recoating interval: 72h (standard environment).
Construction Process:
1Surface Treatment
Surface Treatment—Before painting, the substrate surface should be clean, dry, flat, and firm, free from grease, rust, and other contaminants. All surfaces must comply with ISO
8504-1:2000. If there are old paint films or other original attachments on the surface, use a scraper to remove them or employ mechanical equipment for grinding (St3) or sandblasting (Sa2.5 or Sa3.0 grade).
Dust Removal—Use an air gun to blow off loose dust or sweep it clean with a clean brush. The evaluation method should refer to the provisions of ISO 8502-3 standard.
2. Thinner
Purified water
3. Construction conditions
As with all water-based coatings, careful control of application conditions is required to ensure optimal product performance. The following basic requirements must be adhered to: 1. The optimal application temperature for this product is between 5°C and 40°C, and the steel surface temperature must be at least 3°C above the dew point, preferably maintained above 10°C. 2. Relative humidity should be below 70%. Avoid application during rain, snow, or fog, and prevent contact with water. Adequate ventilation must be provided during application and drying/curing in confined spaces. 3. Excessive thickness in spraying water-based acrylic polyurethane topcoats will extend the minimum recoating interval and handling time. Over-spraying may also increase micro-bubbling in the film and reduce gloss.
4. Application method
Air spraying is recommended. If special brushing methods are required, please specify in advance so the company can adjust the product accordingly. As this is a water-based product with significantly higher latent heat of evaporation compared to solvent-based coatings (resulting in slower volatilization), air spraying is advised to facilitate faster water evaporation.
5. Cleaning
When work is paused, do not leave paint in the paint tubes, spray guns, or spraying equipment. Thoroughly flush all equipment with clean drinking water mixed with acrylic polyurethane thinner. Mixed paint should not be resealed. If the work pause is prolonged, it is recommended to use freshly mixed paint when resuming work.
Clean all equipment immediately with clean drinking water mixed with acrylic polyurethane thinner during washing. It is also advisable to periodically flush the spraying equipment during construction. The frequency of cleaning depends on the amount of spraying, temperature, and time, including all interruption periods.
Dispose of residual paint and empty cans according to relevant regional regulations.
